On August 31, 2019, Councillor Bill Duffett of Eastport and Mazol Shriners raised the Shrine Flag at the town hall in Eastport.
This event was the start of the Town of Eastport setting aside September as Shrine month in their town and to celebrate the excellent work of Shriners in Eastport and Newfoundland and Labrador.
Mazol Shriners own and operate the RV park, Harold W. Duffett Shriners RV Park which is in Eastport. Each year the park is open to the RVing public of Newfoundland and Labrador and beyond.
