Nineteen of the 22 Shriners Hospitals are orthopaedic
units, treating children with problems of the bones, joints and muscles.
Located throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico, the orthopaedic
Shriners Hospitals offer expert, state-of-the-art medical care to children
with orthopaedic deformities, diseases or injuries, such as clubfoot, scoliosis,
and the orthopaedic problems caused by cerebral palsy. In addition, some
of the units treat patients with "healed" burns, who need reconstructive
or plastic surgery, or rehabilitation.
