The following is a letter from the Imperial Potentate regarding a Racecar driving for Shriners Hospitals at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coke Zero 400 in Daytona. Be sure to read this interesting letter.
Dear Nobles,
We have some exciting news to share with you. On Saturday, July 2 fellow Shriner David Ragan will be driving the Shriners Hospitals for Children’s® Healing Power of Love racecar designed by patient, Hailey Randall, at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coke Zero 400 in Daytona, Fla.
Hailey, a patient at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Twin Cities, created the winning design during the system-wide contest this past spring. Hailey will wear her custom fire suit and watch as David races the car with her winning design around the one-mile track.
Here’s how you too can be part of the Healing Power of Love:
- Take the 50 Ticket Challenge: Work together with your fellow Shriners to purchase at least 50 tickets to the Daytona NASCAR race. Discounted tickets, preferred parking and Pit Road tours are available when your goal is reached. A portion of ticket sales will be contributed to Shriners Hospitals for Children. - Join fellow Shriners on Saturday July 2 at 7:30 pm at Champions Sports Bar at the Tampa Marriott Waterside when you are in town for Imperial Session. Grab dinner and watch the race as David Ragan represents Shriners Hospitals for Children in his Healing Power of Love car.
- Host your own Healing Power of Love racecar reveal party. Invite your friends over to watch the Coke Zero 400 on July 2. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate Shriners International and Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Since naming our health care system his official charity of choice in 2008, David Ragan has used his popularity to increase awareness and raise funds for Shriners Hospitals. Join him in celebrating the accomplishments of patients like Hailey who can do all the things she loves thanks to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
