A very unique fundraising project was undertaken in September by contestants in the Junior Miss Newfoundland and Labrador Competition. This year contestants chose Mazol Shriners as the beneficiary of their fundraising activities. From Every Corner of our Province, St. John’s to Labrador, contestants engaged in several weeks of personal fundraising activities, all with the goal of contributing to Mazol’s Patient Transportation Fund.
On the evening of September 16th, at the crowning of Miss Junior NL, it was announced that a total of $9,823.75 had been raised and would be donated to Mazol Shriners. Sarah Pitcher of Winterton was the winner of Mazol Shriner’s Youth Leadership Award in recognition of her efforts in raising $2010.40.
Members of the Trinity Conception Shrine Club were in attendance for the presentation. Mazol is indeed most grateful for being chosen as the charity of choice for 2018.
